Delete your SpellOwl account

1. Open SpellOwl and go to the parent area (enter your 4-digit parent code).
2. Open the Account tab.
3. Tap Delete my account, check the confirmation box, then tap Delete permanently. Depending on how you sign in, the app asks for your password or for you to sign in again with Google or Apple: use the same account. If it asks for a password you never set, use the steps without the app below.

If your subscription has ended or never started, Delete my account is also on the screen that opens the app, without the parent code.

Write to contact@spellowl.com from the email address of your SpellOwl account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you signed in with Google or Apple, use the address of that account. We confirm by email and complete the deletion within 30 days.

• Your parent account: your name, your email address, your password and the link with your Google or Apple sign-in.
• Your parent code and your settings.
• Every child profile: nickname and school level.
• Every word list, every sentence you edited, and all practice history.
• The record of your consent to the AI processing.
• Your person record in our analytics tool (PostHog).

• Your subscription. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it first in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions) or in your App Store account settings.
• Purchase records. Google Play or Apple, and our subscription provider RevenueCat, keep the record of your purchases for billing and tax purposes, under their own policies. These records no longer point to an account in SpellOwl.
• Crash reports. They were never linked to your account and are deleted automatically by our crash-reporting provider within 90 days.
• Backups. Deleted data can remain in our encrypted database backups for up to 7 days, then it is gone.
• Your deletion email. We keep your request and our reply for up to 12 months, as a record that we handled it.

In the app, you can delete a word list at any time: open it from the Lists tab, then tap the trash icon at the top of the list. You can turn off the app's usage statistics in the Account tab. To delete a single child profile and its practice history, or anything else, write to contact@spellowl.com.
